Onboarded – What’s next?

Wonderful to have you with us.

Take some time to discover Alpian, the mobile application and our services. We’re hoping you make the most of it, and here’s a list of things you can do to make that happen:

1. Activate your debit card once you receive it

You’ll receive your Alpian Visa debit card a few days after opening your account. You can activate it via the app, which will immediately enable online transactions around the world. To activate contactless payments, insert your card into an ATM or the card terminal of a vendor and make a transaction. Your Alpian Visa debit card can also be added to Apple Pay – with Google Pay yet to come.

2. Understand all your banking features

Multi-currency account

You’re equipped with a multi-currency account. Here’s what that means. You now have accounts in CHF, EUR, GBP and USD, which you can use for all your banking needs. All that’s needed is for you to deposit money into them.

Your IBAN

All four accounts are associated with one IBAN. Whenever you receive CHF, EUR, GBP or USD to your IBAN, our systems will automatically credit the corresponding account. And if you receive funds in other currencies, we will automatically convert them to CHF.

Alpian Visa debit card

Your Alpian Visa debit card is also multi-currency. When you use it to pay for goods or services in CHF, EUR, GBP and USD, the relevant account will automatically be debited. When you use it to pay for goods or services in other currencies, your CHF account will automatically be debited.

Balancing insufficient funds across your accounts

If one of your accounts has insufficient funds for a purchase, there’s no need to worry about overdraft charges. We’ve arranged our systems so that a temporary overdraft resulting from a card transaction will automatically trigger a transfer from your most funded account to the one that needs it.

Fees for domestic and international payments

All of your standard payments in CHF, EUR, GBP and USD are free of charge. Priority payments in CHF, EUR, GBP and USD, as well as international payments made in other currencies, will incur a small conversion fee that’s priced incredibly fairly. We’ve made sure to carefully select partners and leverage our networks to bring fees down.

3. Read our investment philosophy and define your investor profile

If you open the investing dashboard in the App, you will find that our Investment Team has shared their investment philosophy and some other resources with you. We strongly recommend you take the time to look at them and then fill out your investor profile.

4. Book a meeting with the Wealth Management Team

You can think of the Wealth Management Team as your guides and assistants for everything banking- and investment-related. The team is made up of Banking Specialists and Wealth Advisors, and together they cover all of Switzerland’s languages.

Our Banking Specialists will be there when you need assistance with anything related to using the app. You can always chat with them directly from the app. And when you need advice and support on anything finance or investment-related, our Wealth Advisors will be available via video call directly inside the app. All you’ll need to do is open a slot and book a time for a 30-minute meeting at your earliest convenience.

5. Discover and learn with our blog

Visit our blog i-vest by Alpian (blog.alpian.com) to find a comprehensive selection of investment articles, videos, and podcasts, along with a two-season email series designed specifically for beginner investors.
